The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) assists University faculty
and staff with submission of proposals for external support of
research, scholarship, education and training, and
service/outreach activities.
OSP is responsible for assuring that submitted proposals conform
to University policies and sponsor guidelines, and if funded, that
projects are compliant with sponsor requirements.
Three units manage
OSP’s regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities: Research
Administration, Regulatory Compliance, and Technology
Transfer. The Office also interacts with other University offices
and departments to support sponsored activities, including
the Office of Sponsored Accounting, Corporation & Foundation Relations,
Environmental Health and Safety, and Risk Management.
OSP staff are available to facilitate
all aspects of proposal development and award administration.
Among the services provided by each unit are:

multi-investigator or multi-institutional proposal development

budgets and narratives

Review
text for clarity and completeness
Regulatory Compliance

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee

Serve as
central resource for all regulatory compliance needs (e.g.,
responsible conduct of research)
Technology Transfer
•
Assist
faculty and staff protect and commercialize intellectual property
(e.g., potentially patentable or copyrightable works)
•
Manage
disposition of technologies resulting from research
•
Identify
potential commercial partners for research
